This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
Responsibilities include:
- Review Referred endorsements to determine acceptability and adherence to published guidelines and within the individuals authority statement
- Consults with agents to answer questions regarding coverage and endorsement inquiries
- Ability to route endorsement request or activities to the appropriate staff or department
- Build relationships internally with both Center & Regional Office Underwriters and Agency partners
- Provides excellent customer service and operational excellence
- Ensure consistent delivery of responsive communication with our agency partners
- Capability to identify Cross-Sell and Up-sell opportunities
- Source opportunities for our internal partners
- Is well versed about The Hartford’s Value Proposition and holds internal and external customers accountable
- Plan and prioritize work activities to achieve desired results within necessary time frames.
- Effectively use on-line resources, automation tools, and computer software packages.
Qualifications:
- Senior Underwriter Experience: 3 years of Property and Casualty Carrier underwriting experience is required
- Executive Underwriter Experience: 5 years of P&C Middle Market Broker-facing Carrier Underwriting experience required.
- Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions
- High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit
- Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills
- Goal-oriented and delivers outcomes
- Ability to challenge the status quo and compete to win
- Superior technical knowledge and sound decision-making and analytical skills
- Position title and tier will be determined upon careful review of selected candidate's qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$85,600 - $142,800The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
