Join our team as we help shape the future.The Hartford’s Information Protection (THIP) organization is looking for a talented individual to join a high-performing team of Cybersecurity professionals who are charged with supporting and enhancing our Infrastructure Vulnerability Management Team. As a Senior Security Specialist, this position will be a part of the primary technical team tasked with identifying and prioritizing vulnerabilities, validating findings, and working with support areas to resolve or mitigate both on premise and cloud-based technologies, and generally securing our infrastructure.We are looking for an experienced professional who has a breadth of knowledge and skills across various technical acumens, an understanding of industry best practices, and a desire to learn and grow as a security professional.ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for the execution of the following : Configure and maintain tools used to perform enterprise infrastructure vulnerability scansManage both small and large-scale vulnerability scansPerform manual vulnerability assessmentsPrioritize vulnerability findings for both on-premises and cloudValidate vulnerability remediation and mitigation activitiesAssist support areas with mitigation and remediationProvide both technical and non-technical security recommendationsQualificationsCandidates will be evaluated based on their ability to perform the duties listed above while demonstrating the skills and competencies necessary to be highly effective in the role. These skills and competencies include : 5 years' experience performing penetration testing, with an infrastructure focused functionalityStrong technical skills managing and securing : Windows and Linux operating systems, cloud computing, networks, Active Directory, hypervisor infrastructures, and applications.Experience managing and running vulnerability scans of large (enterprise) networksAutomation and scripting experience (PowerShell, Python)Familiarity with CNAPP toolsets is preferredStrong understanding and experience with both attack frameworks and the Common Vulnerability Scoring SystemConfidence to effectively influence others to modify their opinions, plans, or behaviorsExcellent prioritization capabilities, with an aptitude for breaking down work into manageable parts, effectively assessing the priority and time required to complete each partOrganizational skills that enable one to work on several tasks simultaneously, providing management with appropriate insight into the workload and prioritiesOriginal and innovative thinking that produces new ideas and creates innovative solutionsProven ability to develop and implement process improvement initiativesStrong communication and collaboration skillsIndustry recognized certifications, such as CISSP, ISC2, GIAC, and AWS certifications are preferredBachelor’s Degree preferredCandidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
