Job Title: Nurse Manager, RN
Reports To: Clinical Director in coordination with the Medical Director
Type: Full-Time
Location: Tucson, AZ Adelaide Residential
I. Purpose
The Nurse Manager, under the supervision of the Clinical Director and together with the Medical Director, is responsible for the management of the healthcare, nutrition, and medical needs of The Haven residents. The Haven endorses a trauma-informed care approach and a medical model of SUD treatment.
II. Essential Functions
• Supervises nursing staff including registered nurses and medical case aid
• Plans, coordinates, and implements client health services in conjunction with the Medical Director
• Writes medical/nursing policies and procedures, as needed to reflect current practices, ADHS guidelines and CARF standards
• Attends and leads administrative committees especially those pertaining to health and safety
• Sets up initial appointments with the Medical Director for clients and as needed
• Ensures client medical records are updated and follows up with the clinical team when as needed
• Performs Nursing Assessment for all incoming clients at Residential within 7 days of admission
• Performs and reads TB tests for all incoming clients, new employees, and annually for current employees
• Triages clients who may need urgent or emergent medical treatment and coordinates as indicated
• Conducts medication reconciliation audits
III. Other Duties and Responsibilities
• Stays informed of new medications for substance abuse treatment and when possible, attend in-house trainings and educational conferences pertaining to mental health and substance abuse
• Maintains knowledge of federal, state, local, and other agencies on regulatory demands and standards
• Meets with clinical staff to discuss client’s progress and any concerning medical issues
• Conducts medication, compliance, and in-service training for nursing staff and residential technicians.
• Takes 24/7 phone calls pertaining to questions, changes in medical conditions, or medical emergencies concerning clients
• Contacts Medical Director as needed for direction with medical issues including medication orders
• Calls in prescriptions to pharmacy via order of the Medical Director
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Medical Director and the Director of Clinical Services

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a current Arizona Nursing license
• Must have at least an Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Must have an Arizona Non-IVP Level-1 Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain it during employment
• Must have current CPR and First Aide Certification
• Must be at least 21 years of age upon hire
• Must have current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Must have a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray prior to hire
• Must have first two doses of COVID-19 vaccination prior to hire or approved medical or religious exemption form on file
• Must have knowledge of medication and medication management
• Must have the ability to work well with others and to multitask
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must possess strong analytical skills and strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of Office products, particularly Excel and Word is preferred
• Must be available for on call
• Must have weekend availability
• Knowledge of substance use treatment preferred
