Job Description
Cost Controller – Midstream Oil & Gas
Cost Control Lead experienced in providing budgeting, reporting and controls for oil and gas industry. This position is singularly responsible for all program cost control deliverables.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the development of the Value of Work Done / Earned Value for each reporting period with variance descriptions to original budget and prior period forecast
- Compile and track commitments as input into Value of Work Done
- Lead the technical team in updates for remaining forecast and estimate updates while providing historical data and trends
- Incorporate Value of Work Done and Cost Forecast Update into the month end presentation
- Prepare cash forecasting and track committed dollars for all operating costs and any project AFEs
- Assist in Monthly, Quarter and Year-End accruals
- Perform monthly variance analyses between budget/forecasted and actuals and review with technical team to reconcile discrepancies
- Maintain and apply WBS to AFEs
- Calculate and facilitate allocations from shared services AFEs to projects
- Review Order requests against budget and schedule and provide coding
- Manage order and AFE closeout
- Work with Technical Team to develop budget
- Prepare long range financial plans with analysis on variances between cycles
- Perform reconciliations including invoice actuals and allocations, ensuring correct coding is applied
- Special projects, as needed
Qualifications:
- Seven years plus of experience in oil and gas CAPEX cost control
- MS Office Suite, advanced Excel
- Power BI preferred
- Organized and self-motivated
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
