To perform basic administrative duties such as answering phones and taking messages. This position is a sales position that specializes in agriculture-based sales
Job Description
× Begin each shift by getting acquainted with the current inventory; review the daily inventory sheet to become familiar with hay inventory levels, sales, and promotions. Check the receiving calendar to obtain information on the day’s new arrivals; meet with the operations manager and supervisors to discuss daily plans/goals.
× Make phone calls based on scheduled delivery dates to confer with customers about needed products, prices, availability, and current terms of credit. Make recommendations based on past purchases, needs, and market availability.
× Upon receipt of all orders, create logical delivery routes for delivery trucks.
× Create loading sheets for each delivery truck; write clearly and be specific to avoid loading errors. Work with warehouse supervisor to inform of urgency, deadlines or any special instructions.
× Review completed load sheets with warehouse supervisor. Document any changes from customer’s original order and inform them of change prior to creating shipping ticket.
× Prepare shipping tickets/invoices for each customer receiving a shipment, along with delivery driver’s route sheet.
× Assign runs to drivers, communicate to drivers any specific instructions for delivery.
× Consult with customer after receipt of shipment to confirm satisfaction or resolve any issues; Keep record of customer interactions, complaints, comments, as well as actions taken.
× Enlist operations manager and/or accounting department to resolve issues with product quality or billing complaints, exchanging of merchandise, returns, billing adjustments, etc.
× Monitor delivery equipment that is left at customer’s facility to ensure it is returned in a timely manner.
× Work with manager to create promotions/sales incentives for dealers; utilize flyers, emails, personal visits and/or product samples to educate and inform.
× Receive daily hay inbounds into system. File PO’s to appropriate accounting dept.
Skills/Qualifications
Customer service, capacity to learn product knowledge, creative problem solving skills, ability to multi-task, knowledge of market, documentation skills, exceptional phone skills; listening and effectively communicating. Basic to advanced computer skills; ability to operate a Point of Sale program, Microsoft office, and a computerized calendar.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
