Vice President of Human Resources
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Our firm has been exclusively retained by a private equity-backed manufacturer to find a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Human Resources. Our client operates several plants throughout the United States, including unionized facilities. The ideal candidate will lead the corporate HR team and multiple manufacturing plants, driving initiatives that align with the company's mission. The successful candidate must have leadership experience working with unions, as well as expertise in collective bargaining and union relations. This position reports directly to the CEO and will serve as a trusted advisor. The targeted compensation package is up to $340,000, along with a relocation package and a generous benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute HR strategies that support company objectives and foster continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership development and guidance to the HR team, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Lead compensation, benefits, compliance, performance management, recruitment, and retention strategies.
- Champion best practices for systems integrations and implementations between the HRIS and ERP systems for payroll, benefits, performance management, employee data, and recruitment.
- Partner with the executive leadership team to optimize workforce planning, employee engagement, and leadership development.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support and advise executive leadership on HR matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and policy administration.
- Develop and manage the HR budget, outlining strategic initiatives and resource allocation.
- Promote a strong company culture that reflects the company’s values and fosters a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, required.
- MBA or Master’s degree is desirable.
- 10 years of senior-level HR leadership experience.
- 5 years of experience working with unions.
- HR certifications (SHRM, PHR, or similar), preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, best practices, and strategic workforce planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide strategic guidance to leadership.
