Job Description
An Associate Teacher plays a vital role in delivering an educational program in which children are known and learning is personalized. As part of a collaborative team, this position supports the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering instruction, while also providing individualized attention to students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing daily lessons under the direction of the Lead Teacher.
- Design and prepare the learning environment to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Accompany students to specialty classes and assist specialty teachers.
- Support the Lead Teacher in other ways as requested, including administrative tasks and classroom management.
- Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Teaching credential, certification in process, or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in child development.
- Demonstrated understanding of restorative practices.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Experience with International Baccalaureate a plus.
