We're currently seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support our team in delivering exceptional care to our clients.
Position Overview:
As a Medical Assistant at The Healing Order, you will play a vital role in supporting our practitioners and ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care. You will work closely with herbalists, acupuncturists, and naturopaths, assisting with patient intake, treatment preparation, and administrative duties. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, healing environment where your contributions make a difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist practitioners with patient intake, including gathering health histories and recording vital signs
- Prepare patients for treatments, including acupuncture sessions, herbal consultations, and naturopathic appointments
- Support practitioners with creating and updating treatment plans
- Manage inventory of herbs, supplements, and other medical supplies; assist with restocking and ordering
- Prepare and administer basic treatments as directed (e.g., herbal preparations, supplements, basic acupuncture assistance)
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with client communications, including appointment reminders and follow-up care
- Provide support to the administrative team, including scheduling, phone calls, and billing inquiries
- Ensure the clinic environment is clean, organized, and ready for treatments
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a medical assistant, preferably in an integrative or alternative medicine setting (e.g., acupuncture, herbal medicine, naturopathy)
- Strong interest in holistic health practices and natural healing methods
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures, herbal remedies, and acupuncture practices is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse clientele
- Ability to maintain a calm, compassionate, and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Certification as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA, or similar) is preferred, but not required
