POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Manager at The Health Collective is a key role responsible for overseeing financial operations and ensuring the organization's fiscal health and compliance. This position manages and records financial transactions, handles cash management, oversees accounts receivable and payable, and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting. The Finance Manager is also responsible for payroll management, compliance reporting, and providing essential financial insights to support strategic decision-making, including managing programmatic budgets.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the recording of all receipts & disbursements for the agency.
- Responsible for cash management.
- Responsible for accounts receivables and accounts payables.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
- Responsible for employee payroll and assists the Chief Operating Officer in monitoring and oversight administration of relationship with vendor: PayChex.
- Responsible for setting up new employees and/or 1099 payees and any changes thereafter.
- File mandated compliance reports with state & city departments.
- Monitor payroll taxes and filing of annual 990 tax form.
- Facilitate audit and 990 completion and submission.
- Provide financial input as needed for grant writing initiatives input.
- Handle all employee expense reimbursements.
- Provide agency Board of Directors Finance Committee with monthly financial reports (cash activity).
- Provide input to financial management section of annual plan, quarterly & year-end.
- Attends and participates in regularly scheduled agency staff and leadership meetings.
- Assures audit functions and systems are in place, for compliance with policy and procedures, funder requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Advise Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, recommending efficient and cost-effective solutions for identified challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business management.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License preferred but not required.
- Experience in nonprofit sector accounting, understanding specific regulations and financial reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with state-specific legal requirements and regulations governing nonprofit financial practices.
- Understanding of and adherence to ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting and transactions.
- Dependable, reliable; must have valid driver’s license and car insurance.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.
- Computer literacy, e.g., Microsoft Suite, financial database utilization (Quickbooks), etc.
REQUIRED TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS UPON HIRE:
- All Organizational and Department Training as Assigned.
- CPR Certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
