Patient Care Technician (CNA) Instructor (RN / LPN)
The Healthcare Assisting and Team Institute (THATI) is seeking a Program Director for its PCT program in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; THATI offers a variety of entry-level training for aspiring healthcare professionals.
The patient care technician instructor develops and coordinates a comprehensive plan that reflects and supports the THATI’s mission, values and strategic plan, state practice standards, and regulatory recommendations.
Responsibilities:
The following essential functions apply both to a traditional and distance education-learning environment:
- Provides regular supervision and evaluation of instructional staff
- Assists in the acquisition of clinical training site
- Maintains continuous liaison with all clinical sites to ensure site compliance with the program’s learning objectives
- Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development
- Assists in the recruitment of students
- Evaluate the applicant's application packet
- Interviews applicants
- Routinely reviews student attendance and participation in both the didactic and clinical components.
- Routinely reviews each student’s performance to assess student progress toward completion of the program and variance from planned academic progress.
- Provides academic counseling to students
- Develops academic remediation plans for students failing to maintain satisfactory academic progress and who may be at risk of academic probation and/or termination
- Reviews and revises curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and secondary teaching material
- Exercises continuous assessment and revisions, if necessary, to the academic assessment system, both didactic and clinical
- Ensures timely execution of all assessment tools related to students’ didactic & clinical performance
- Evaluates instructional staff teaching activities
- Evaluates all primary and secondary teaching materials used in the course
- Updates, maintains, and analyzes program effectiveness
- Participates in resource planning
Qualifications:
- A Florida RN/LPN license or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Florida is required.
- BSN preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience is required, with a minimum of one (2) year in long-term care services or Hospital.
- A minimum of five (2) years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.
- Minimum of three (1) years teaching and/or leadership experience preferred
- Possess exemplary communication, collaboration, and customer service skills. Time management skills required to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Demonstrated success in consultation, leadership, and the ability to serve as a catalyst for change.
- Possess the ability to take initiative, exercise independent judgment, and make appropriate decisions in a timely fashion.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
