Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Production Manager to oversee daily production, labor management, and overall facility operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and seamless production of high-quality food products while maintaining compliance with all food safety standards. The Production Manager will work closely with the Chief Culinary Officer to translate culinary innovation into scalable, cost-effective processes.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Develop, implement, and monitor daily production schedules to meet client orders and deadlines.
- Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including labor allocation, equipment maintenance, and process optimization.
- Ensure production efficiency by tracking key performance metrics, including throughput, yields, and waste.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce operational costs.
Labor Management
- Supervise and manage the production team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment by motivating staff and resolving conflicts as needed.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production demands and seasonal fluctuations.
Collaboration and Communication
- Coordinate with the Chief Culinary Officer to scale recipes and production processes effectively.
- Serve as the main point of contact for cross-functional teams (culinary, sales, and logistics) regarding production capabilities and timelines.
- Provide regular updates on operational performance and areas for improvement.
Compliance and Safety
- Maintain compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements, including HACCP, FSMA, and OSHA standards.
- Ensure all employees follow safety protocols and proper use of equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Oversee routine audits, inspections, and certifications for the facility.
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and manage budgets for labor, equipment, and operational expenses.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure materials are available for production.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required with strong experience).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Experience working in a warehouse or factory setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain high-quality standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $69,000.00 per year
