Shipping and Receiving is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of a company’s warehouse or facility. The role involves handling shipments, ensuring inventory is accurate, and coordinating with stakeholders.
Shipping and Receiving Job Description
Receiving Shipments:
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and condition.
- Verify contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Record and report any damaged or missing items.
- Unload deliveries and organize materials in the warehouse.
Processing Outgoing Shipments:
- Prepare products for shipping, including packing, labeling, and weighing.
- Create and print shipping labels and related documents (e.g., bills of lading).
Inventory Management:
- Ensure that products are stored in the correct locations.
- Assist in cycle counting and inventory audits.
Warehouse Organization:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Operate pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
-Assisting with Daily inventory cycle counts
-Assisting with back stock report
-Inventory moves throughout the warehouse
-Checking in received inventory (when needed)
-Picking/packing online orders
-Processing daily returns
-Other requests as necessary.
Training will be provided.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- High School diploma or GED Required
- Strong, accurate data entry skills
- Computer savvy with the ability to learn new programs quickly
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work on your feet, occasionally lift 30 pounds, and be able to ascend a ladder
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with G-Suite
- Basic Excel knowledge
Hours: Full time 40 hrs/week
