The Helix School (THS) serves autistic children between the ages of 5 and 22 living throughout the Bay Area. The school’s model and mission are based on providing an education that both nurtures and develops students’ capabilities through an evidence-based, integrated curriculum tailored to support a child’s developmental level, sensory processing differences, and emotional regulatory needs. The talented staff consists of educators, occupational, speech and behavioral therapists, and mental health professionals. Responsibilities:
- Working with head teacher, Counselor, Speech Therapist, Social-Emotional Learning Specialist and/or Occupational Therapist for 1:1 delivery of special education plans and daily instruction
- Assisting the head teacher and others on the student’s team in preparing and presenting academic plan
- Provide behavioral support to student when needed
- Under direction of teachers and therapists, collect data as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2 years working with children (special education strongly preferred)
- Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and
- Experience in hands-on teaching delivery
