What are the responsibilities and job description for the Music Instructor position at The Heritage School?
The Heritage School seeks a full time Music Instructor to begin August 2025 to work primarily with
Early Learning Center and Lower School students. Candidates should have classroom teaching
experience for young learners as well as experience with musical theater productions involving
middle and upper school students. The successful candidate should possess the following skill set:
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that
- Concert Planning: Organize and lead multiple concerts and performances throughout the
Month concerts, and Fine Arts Night.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers to assist in class performances and assemblies,
- Sound System Management: Maintain and manage the school’s sound system for assemblies,
- Assembly Music: Provide musical accompaniment and programming for monthly school
- Choir Leadership: Direct the afterschool lower school choir, The Heritage Voices, fostering
- Band Support: Assist the band director as needed with performances, rehearsals, or classroom
- Growing the Fine Arts Program: Partner with school leadership and other fine arts educators to
increasing student engagement in music and other creative disciplines.
- General Music Responsibilities: Perform other duties associated with the role of a music
to the overall culture of the school.
