Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager of Club Operations plays a vital role in supporting the overall supervision and daily operations of Member Services, Retail, Fitness and Spa Facilities, Special Events, Food and Beverage and Facility Maintenance. This position assists the Club Operations Director in ensuring that all departments operate smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with The Hermitage Club’s high standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering unparalleled service to our members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight:
- Support the management of Member Services, Retail, Fitness and Spa Operations, Special Events, and Facility Maintenance.
- Monitor the daily activities of each department, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to the Club’s quality standards.
- Team Management:
- Assist in supervising and developing staff across departments, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment focused on member satisfaction.
- Member Engagement:
- Interact with members and guests to ensure their needs are met and experiences exceed expectations.
- Address member feedback, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Event Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager to assist with planning and executing special events.
- Ensure seamless communication and coordination across departments during events.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Oversee facility upkeep and address maintenance issues promptly in coordination with the maintenance team.
- Budget & Administrative Support:
- Assist with the development and management of department budgets.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll oversight, and inventory control.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions, ensuring a safe environment for members, guests, and staff.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Six or more years of related experience, with at least three years in a managerial role.
- Substantial private club, ski area, or hospitality industry experience, demonstrating progressive professional advancement.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations:
- Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, Maintenance, and Retail Operations Management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster member relationships and inspire teams.
- Proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and operational efficiency.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoors and during peak seasonal periods.
- Capability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, or sitting for extended periods.
