Job Location : Bluffton, IN
Summary :
Responsible for labor management and scheduling, training, and step up cards. Directs and manages the activities of hourly production personnel while safely and effectively serving the needs of the plant's production areas. Adheres to the labor contract and complies with regulatory requirements, company and plant policies and procedures.
In addition, the Labor Scheduling and Training Supervisor :
Manage daily, weekly and OT labor scheduling
Responsible for weekly work assignment schedule
Manage and coordinate daily and weekly overtime processes
Responsible for the scheduling the daily lineups
Regularly review production department headcount to maintain appropriate staffing requirements
Manage internal job posting process
Responsible for tracking employee absences to determine overtime coverage needed.
Manage short and long term labor projections based on shift levels to ensure sufficient staffing in place to meet production requirements.
Manage the plant training and qualification process
Manage the hourly EE job training and qualification processes within annual budget
Supervise hourly trainers
Assist with the creation and maintenance of training documents.
Support new hire onboarding, orientation and assessment processes
Own the creation and updating of the plants Step up Cards
Ensures Step Up Cards are updated and accurately reflect the correct processes and procedures
Oversee the POG review process.
Serve as the plant owner for temporary workforce relationship
Work with temp staffing agency to coordinate contingent labor needs and provide future projections.
Management daily and weekend contingent labor work assignments.
Coordinate temporary workforce orientation and training.
Skills and Experience :
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage time efficiently and without supervision to meet deadlines.
Self-motivator; excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
Must be flexible to staffing changes and react quickly and efficiently.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Must be multi-task oriented and able to handle constant work interruptions.
Good knowledge of plant policies and procedures.
Strong problem solving, analytical and math skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization on a daily basis.
Familiarity working in a union environment
Proficient in the use of SAP or similar software
Familiarity with labor scheduling software
Supervisory experience
Minimum Requirements and Education :
High school education or equivalent required.
BA / BS Business Management or related field preferred.
Experience creating, analyzing, and reporting data to impact business decisions required.
Minimum 3 years of production planning and / or labor scheduling experience in manufacturing is required.
