Summary :
The Supervisor of Labor Scheduling & Training is responsible for developing and implementing a learning structure to encompass all positions at the site level while creating a culture of continuous learning. This position requires a forward thinker who doesn’t accept the status quo but fosters a mindset of continuous improvement always looking for a better, more effective way to teach employees and develop leaders. The Leader will develop and manage implementation plans as we move to a digital platform for our learning content.
In addition, the Supervisor of Labor Scheduling & Training will :
- Manage the hourly employee job training and qualification processes within the annual budget.
- Supervise hourly training coordinators and line trainers.
- Coordinate weekly employee job movement to new positions / shifts for training.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of training documents (i.e., Step-up cards)
- Support new hire onboarding, orientation, and assessment processes.
- Manage monthly metric reporting for the L&D steering team.
- Selection and development of hourly Trainer Certifiers.
- Ensure Step-up Cards are updated and accurately reflect the correct processes and procedures
- Oversee the Step-up Card review process.
- Lead the daily direction of Trainers along with coordinating the activities of manufacturing line-level Training Specialists
- Lead the plant-level Learning and Development Pillar
- Actively participate in the corporate Learning and Development Pillar
- Utilize data to make informed decisions. Work cross-functionally to identify labor needs and create data dashboards to visualize short-term opportunities and long-term trends and forecasts.
- Leverage data and trends to create a budget that includes the new employees required yearly.
- Organize and simplify skills matrices. Partner with Team Leaders and other departments to develop line and employee-specific training plans
- Develop metrics to track training progress, identify gaps, and create plans to close those gaps
- Present material to various groups, including new employees, incumbents, plant leadership, and corporate partners
