A Day in the Life :
The Sr Director, Global Safety and Security, will lead a team of EHS and Security specialists by driving and developing polices, standards, and procedures for North America (NA) based Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty locations, reporting directly into the Exec VP, Chief Administrative Officer. This role will be responsible for implementing the NA safety and security strategy, including physical security programs. This role will work proactively with key stakeholders, leaders, and partners to identify and mitigate EHS and security risks.
The starting salary is $165K; commensurate with experience.
What You’ll Do :
Foster leadership ownership and accountability for EHS and Security standards and embed a proactive safety culture.
Propose, develop, implement, and promote all programs and strategies in Environmental, Health, Security and Safety. Specifically focusing on industrial hygiene, ergonomics, emergency management, environmental protection, occupational safety, physical security and asset recover.
Lead, motivate, and mentor a high performing team of EHS and Security professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards
Identify and analyze risks and hazards at all locations and proposing corrective actions, training, and documentation.
Perform and implement safety assessments, audits, and training.
Perform accident, incident, and near miss investigations, root cause analysis, and implementations of safety action plans.
Provide meaningful reports and trend analysis on ESH and Safety performance to senior leadership.
What We’re Looking For :
Graduate-level education with a recognized Health & Safety qualification
Active Certified Safety Professional certification or equivalent.
At least 10 years of experience in senior EHS and Security leadership roles within a large global setting.
Demonstrable success in developing and implementing EHS and Security strategies that drive cultural transformation and improve safety and security performance.
Knowledge of industry best practice regarding safety, environmental, and security approaches
