We’re looking for software engineers who will modernize Hertz’s tech stack and, in the process, ship delightful products to meet the ever-increasing demands of our customers.What you will do : You will lead a team of 5 developers and participate in the entire software development lifecycle. You will work with product managers and other engineers to envision, build, and deliver products.Analyze user requirements to define business objectivesEnvisioning system features and functionalityDevelop and test softwareIdentify and resolve any technical issues arisingPropose changes to the current infrastructureDevelop technical designs for application developmentWrite well-designed, testable codeConducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debuggingSupport continuous improvement, investigating alternatives and technologies, and presenting for architectural reviewWhat We're Looking For : 5 years of experience in the technology industry and a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalentProficiency in nextjs, reactjs and Node.js; Python could be a plusExperience with PostgreSQL or other relational databasesExperience in writing unit tests and integration tests in Cypress or playwrightAbility to design systems of significant complexityAbility to act as tech lead for projects end-to-endStrong communication skills. You must be able to work with cross-functional partners to gather requirementsStrong product sense. You must be able to align your work with business objectives and make appropriate tradeoffsLearning mentality. You must be able to pick up new skills as needed and demonstrate a curiosity about new technologies.We expect the starting salary to be around $120,000 to $150,000 with annual bonus and profit sharing eligibility.
