What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at The Hibbert Group?
. BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- Distribute stock, material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Arrange stock in specified sequence for other workers.
- Scrap customer stock.
- Drive vehicle to transport stored items from or within warehouse or pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- Attend Warehouse meetings as required.
- Ensures a strong commitment to quality and adheres to all ISO 9001 related standards.
- Complies with all safety policies and reports any safety issues immediately to a manager.
- All other duties/ responsibilities as deemed appropriate by management.
III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of basic warehouse operations.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Good prioritization skills.
- Ability to use warehouse equipment including forklift, order picker, count scale, electric jack and manual hand jack.
- Ability to work independently toward general results.
- Must demonstrate working proficiency of the English language
- Can effectively communicate with, but not limited to, English speaking employees/other business contacts (contractors, customers, vendors, etc).
- Ability to learn cGMP requirements as it relates to their role -- required prior to working on cGMP service lines.
- Ability to learn PDMA requirements as it relates to their role -- required prior to working on Prescription Drug service lines.
- Successfully comprehends business materials written in English ( job assignments, instructions, etc)
IV. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma/GED.
- Physical Demands: Heavy lifting to 80 lbs.
