We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Expediter (Procurement Assistant) to join our dynamic team in Lancaster, PA. In this role, you are responsible for purchasing, expediting, and monitoring the status of productions materials and services supporting manufacturing needs.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Raw material purchasing nd operations support to maintain inventory at planned levels to achieve the production schedule.
- Perform tasks involved in the formation, administration/expediting and delivery of purchase orders.
- Communicate with suppliers and personnel within the company to establish a clear definition of requirements and assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions.
- In this "hands-on" role, expect to work directly with inventory control, production, engineering and other departments to fulfill job responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- 2 years related procurement and planning experience OR a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Mid-level or higher managerial experience
- Proficient use of ERP systems and other software, including Microsoft Office
- High level responsibility, analysis and independent decision-making are expected
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills are required
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure, changing priorities as necessary to adapt to changing requirements, with a positive attitude.
- Ability to travel (<5% of time)
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND/OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- APICS Certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred
- ISM Certification (CPSM) preferred
This position reports to the VP of Purchasing, Inventory and System Implementation.
