We are seeking an Estimating / Industrial Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team for the Summer 2025.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Estimating / Industrial Engineering Intern will actively engage with the estimating team as well as engineers, project managers, salespeople, and our manufacturing team to assist in reviewing estimates and validating estimating standards.
Responsibilities:
- Learn the basics of fabricating steel bridges
- Interpret design and shop drawings, specifications, and general construction documents
- Complete time studies of various fabrication steps (i.e. welding, machining and yard setup)
- Document time study findings in comparison to current estimating standards to assist the estimating team with system updates
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that aim to streamline departmental processes
- Work in both office and fabrication shop environments.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate college/university
- Candidates pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant area of study are preferred
- Preference for rising senior at time of internship
- Team-player attitude
- Strong attention-to-detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work full-time hours, Monday through Friday
- Able to work in our Lancaster, PA office
- Proficient PC skills, i.e., Microsoft Office
