We are hiring 2 or 3 seasonal employees to help during the growing summer. We would like to offer 1 or 2 of those full-time employment in the fall if they are a good fit for our crew.

Summary/Objective
Responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds in The Highlands. Waters plants, plants, flowers, mows, pulls weeds, repairs structures, and maintains outside of buildings.
Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.
2. Mow lawn either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.
3. Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
4. Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
5. Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others.
6. Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
7. Shoveling and digging as necessary.
8. Perform routine maintenance duties such as applying plaster, fixing fountains, and other duties.
9. Sweep walkways of debris.
10. Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
11. Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
12. Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.
13. Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
14. Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and furniture.
15. Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.
16. Install or move lawn and patio furniture as needed.
17. Consult with Maintenance and Sr. Landscape Supervisor daily to ensure maintenance and repairs are completed. If necessary, contract with vendors and contractors to achieve repairs of facilities and equipment as needed.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position that will start as a seasonal position with an opportunity to join our maintenance and landscape team full-time coming this fall. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. or as determined by the Highlands. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. At least 21 years of age.
3. Good working knowledge of landscaping duties and operations, plus safety practices in an association environment.
Preferred Education and Experience

1. Valid driver’s license.
2. Landscaping experience.
