General Job Scope
The Logistics Fleet Coordinator is responsible for overseeing various aspects of HMC’s Support fleet of vehicles, including upfitting acquired vehicles, managing campus deliveries, scheduling maintenance, monitoring daily delivery needs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and analyzing data to optimize fleet performance and cost efficiency; essentially, managing the transportation logistics of HMC’s Support fleet to ensure smooth operations and on-time deliveries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Must display proven ability to operate both tandem axle tractors with 48’ trailers as well as 22’ straight trucks.
· Manage campus deliveries & spot trailers within campus to help keep our shops productive.
· Maintain a vehicle maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and ensure optimal vehicle condition.
· Ensure the fleet adheres to all relevant transportation laws and regulations, including driver hours of service and vehicle inspections.
· Monitor loads daily & obtain permits for loads that require them.
· Monitor loads daily & ensure those that have tarps are secured correctly.
· Monitor loads daily to ensure we’re sending/loading the correct items as indicated on schedule. Working with our Warehouse & Tool Room teams.
· Perform routine vehicle inspections to help us reduce risk & promote safety protocols to our drivers to minimize accidents and promote road safety.
· Monitor our fleet of trailers ensuring they are compliant and documented correctly in our database. In addition, working with the Logistics Supervisor & Shops to ensure that they are utilized/documented correctly for each loaded or unloaded trailer.
· Manage/maintain vehicle supplies to help keep fleet operational & safe.
· Perform light maintenance on fleet (wipers, light bulbs, fluids, gladhands, etc.…)
· Manage/maintain fleet appearance (schedule washes as needed)
· All other duties as assigned
Experience:
· Minimum (5) years CDL (Class A) experience required
· Knowledge of DOT Rules & Regulations
· Proficiency with cellular & GPS devices
