The Hill Architectural Division Project Manager has the responsibility to complete any project as necessary within schedule and budgetary constraints, track and manage daily project activities, coordinate and facilitate construction drawings and employ lean principles on every project.  Additionally, the Project Manager assists the project team, and superintendent throughout the duration of the project.  Hill’s expertise in all things sheet metal makes us a single source contractor providing a variety of architectural systems including exterior enclosures, interior finishes, equipment screens, and other custom fabrications. 


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee and manage Metal Panel Construction Projects, ranging up to $1M, from conception to completion.
  • Perform accurate material take-off from project drawings. Review take-off for material releases while managing cost control for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Estimate/bid projects; must be capable of thorough analysis of project document requirements, vendor offers and Hill project requirements; negotiate with key vendors for competitive pricing
  • Have a strong understanding of various metal panel systems and building enclosures.
  • Promote other Hill disciplines to be project partners
  • Create site-specific safety plans and JHA’s
  • Have an on-site presence at the project site; have basic understanding of all projects scopes (electrical, structural, etc.)
  • Manage the construction schedule and recognize whether the deliverables/tasks are on track; analyze and develop subcontractor schedules; communicate any change in schedules and address items that are not on schedule
  • Understand and process field work orders, RFI’s, pay applications, change orders, submittals, etc.; requires an advanced understanding of the change order process and the ability to negotiate contracts and change orders
  • Understand project requirements such as OCIP/CCIP, tax exemptions, workforce and contract diversity goals, certified payrolls, etc.
  • Develop and implement MBE/WBE/DBE work plans with strategic partners
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of job costs; complete monthly forecasting of projects; monitor project metrics, including labor metrics which requires an understanding of the collective bargaining agreements for each trade Hill is signatory to and knowledge of MCA.
  • Provide field support until completion of the project. Utilize a preemptive approach across project to anticipate and address challenges proactively.
  • Responsible for post-project review, metrics sharing and lessons learned
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree Architectural Engineering, Building Construction Management, or related major is required
  • 3-5 years minimum experience working in project management for a metal panel or enclosure contractor
  • Experience in Bluebeam, CAD, and Revit a plus
  • OSHA 30 Hour Card required; other safety certifications a plus

  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear and concise technical writing; also requires an ability to understand and use alternative modes of communication (face-to-face, phone, email, text, etc.) and when it’s appropriate to use the varying methods
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer services skills, and maintain a positive attitude while dealing professionally with co-workers, clients, vendors, etc.
  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision while still being a team player
  • Must be dependable, organized and self-motivated

Salary : $75,000 - $115,000
