Job Summary: The Fire Sprinkler Foreman is responsible for overseeing all aspects from start to finish of the installation of a fire sprinkler system. Additionally, the responsibility of the Sprinkler foreman to ensure the safe installation of these systems in commercial and residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete layout, installation, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems.
- Installation of pipe fittings, hangers, couplings, and sprinklers per design plan and codes to properly protect building.
- Read blueprints and/or working drawings to properly install, repair, and maintain systems
- Organizes and prepares materials and equipment to be moved to and from the job site.
- Communicating project, schedule and design changes to Field Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Plan installation or repair to ensure that the customer is not adversely affected or restricted.
- Documenting and reporting water damage, injuries, and/or accidents to Field Superintendent and General Manager immediately when an incident occurs.
- Follows all safety rules and guidelines and ensures all co-workers are following the same.
- Train Fitters and Helpers on proper installation techniques.
- Position will require candidate to be placed on the emergency on-call rotation
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- 5 years minimum experience in fire system installation and repair
- Must have basic knowledge of NFPA 13, 20, 24 & 25
- Strong work ethic, professional attitude, honest & hard working
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check & drug screening
- Must be able to lift heavy loads (Ladders, Power Machine, Hand Tools, Pipe, etc.)
- Must be comfortable with heights, working on ladders or lifts, or in confined spaces.
- High School diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in various environments, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings and outdoor settings, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending and kneeling for extended periods
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed, which would require use of fall protection equipment and other safety devices
- Capable of using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, grinding, drilling, fastening and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc.
