Job Description
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join our team for Summer 2025. Our Marketing team manages Hillman's social media presence, where we share corporate updates and company news. However, the Marketing team also oversees a portfolio of different product-focused brands, each with its own social media presence, audience, and strategic goals, ranging from hardware to protective work gear products.
As a Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and various marketing projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a broad digital team and gain experience in a multitude of digital mediums. We’re looking for a student who can commit to approximately 25 hours per week, though we are flexible with the schedule.
Responsibilities
Read consumer reviews and document reoccurring negative reviews; identify potential actions to resolve.
Do monthly reporting on consumer feedback trends for the business to action upon.
Support B2B team (shop.hillmangroup.com) with user interface testing where applicable.
Manage and create engaging content for our social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and followers.
Monitor social media channels for trends, conversations, and opportunities to engage with our audience.
Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop creative ideas for marketing campaigns and initiatives.
Assist in the creation of marketing materials such as blog posts, newsletters, emails, and website content.
Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and target audience demographics to inform marketing strategies.
Support the marketing team with various administrative tasks and projects as needed.
Assist the Content team with audits/reviews of product detail pages on different retailer sites.
Learn content requirements across multiple retailer sites (primarily ACE Hardware and Tractor Supply), to ensure Hillman’s product information meets retailer requirements
Utilize internal PIM system (Salsify) to gather product information or reach out to Product/Brand Managers to fill in gaps in product data.
Qualifications
Locally based in Cincinnati, Ohio and willing to work in the office at least 1 day/week.
Maintain confidentiality of company information encountered.
The ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Currently enrolled in University program in Marketing, Mass Communications, or like program.
Video creation skills a plus.
