What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kids Minister position at The Hills Church?
The purpose of The Hills Church is to make and grow followers of Christ. We do this together by being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did.
The purpose of Next Gen Ministry is to equip and activate the next generation to love God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength and to love their neighbor as themselves by engaging every family and elevating community.
The purpose of the KLR Kids Minister is to serve as the leader and champion of the Next Gen purpose, vision, and strategy in Kids Ministry at the KLR Campus.
Primary Responsibilities
- Steward and champion the Next Gen purpose, vision, strategy, values and objectives which are:
- Spirit Alignment: Prayerfully and humbly listen to the Holy Spirit with a discerning and obedient posture in order to cooperate with the move of God in the next generation, seeking alignment and unity in common vision, values, strategy, and language.
- Deep Discipleship: Disciple the next generation to encounter God through worship, the Word, wonders, and the development of a Christ-centered worldview, leading to a resilient walk with Jesus.
- Mission Mobilization: Mobilize the next generation to discover and participate in the Mission of God every day, instilling in them a sense of passion and purpose as witnesses to the world who pray, give, and go.
- Family Engagement: Equip and partner with all families in every circumstance to firmly establish a God-given sense of identity in the next generation through milestones, family experiences, and coaching and cues.
- Community Elevation & Leader Development: Organize our ministry around small groups of intergenerational relationships to give the next generation a sense of belonging as part of a life-giving faith community by equipping and activating leaders.
- Oversee ministry environments by creating programs that provide engaging experiences for the discipleship of kids.
- Lead collaboratively by working and communicating clearly with Next Gen Global Kids Minister and KLR Campus Pastor to ensure ongoing alignment.
- Manage campus needs for childcare and support management of P.A.T.H.
Ministerial Responsibilities
- In addition to the Primary Responsibilities outlined above, all ministers will perform general ministerial duties, including but not limited to hospital visits, weddings, funerals, prayer response, lay counseling, and baptisms. In addition, ministers will share their prayer requests and attend a monthly elder prayer time.
- As a team member of the Keller campus staff, participation in campus staff meetings as well as involvement in campus-wide events and body life is expected.

- University graduate, preferably with a complimentary degree to minister to children
