Job Details: Position Summary: The 2nd Shift Feed Mill Supervisor will support and serve as a backup to the Feed Mill Manager, ensuring the efficient production and delivery of feed for Tyson-owned turkeys. This role involves overseeing ingredient ordering, inventory management, and employee scheduling. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage a team of up to 8 employees Monitor and maintain ingredient inventory within set tolerances Improve crumble and pellet quality, as well as tons per hour of production Implement and oversee ingredient and pellet quality testing Enhance load turn times and optimize the use of 30-ton trailers Address customer complaints regarding feed quality and deliveries in the absence of the Feed Mill Manager Work with the Feed Clerk and Finisher Service team to minimize leftover feed after flocks are marketed. Reduce weekend deliveries and communicate mill issues or downtime to the Farms team Foster a culture of safety and efficiency throughout operations Requirements: Education: High school diploma preferred; additional education, vocational training, or college coursework is preferred. Experience: 1-3 years of feed mill experience preferred; 5 years of experience in feed mill pellet production is ideal. Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in computer use is required, along with strong attention to detail. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees a team performing similar and related tasks. Travel: Requires 1-5 trips per year.
