ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned)
- Assist in supervision of the Housekeeping operation.
- Assist with administrative functions in the Housekeeping operation, including ordering, inventory and managing expenses.
- Assist in the selection, training, supervision, direction, and scheduling of Housekeeping employees.
- Assist housekeeping employees in completing daily responsibilities through a “hands on” approach, working side-by-side as needed as part of the team.
- Frequently conducting the daily opening of Housekeeping, including providing daily room assignments.
- Inspecting guestrooms, back of the house areas and all public spaces to ensure they meet standards of cleanliness and providing constructive feedback and suggestions with respect to inspected work.
- Monitoring chemical usage by Housekeeping employees and ensuring proper labeling of chemicals.
- Ensuring a safe work environment (a responsibility of all team members)
- Three years or more of related experience required.
- Experience with PEP Property Management System strongly preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
- Ability to cover any shift in the event of call-offs or other operational needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Bi-lingual (Spanish & English) a plus.
- Ability to lead effectively and develop strong working relationships with team members.
- Ability to multi-task and redirect department through hotel occupancy changes.
- Ability to lift or exert force of up to 20 lbs on a consistent basis.
- Ability to be detail-oriented and visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to be highly visible and interact with guests and employees.
- Ability to work under the supervision and direction of the Rooms Division Manager and to work as a team player with both supervisory and non-supervisory staff.
