The Hinckley Company, known for building and servicing, strong, seaworthy and beautiful yachts is seeking a Fiberglass Laminator for our production facility in Trenton, Maine. The Fiberglass Laminator performs basic lamination of fiberglass on molds to form boat decks, hulls, fiberglass bodies and parts for assembly. The Fiberglass Laminator removes fiberglass boat decks and hulls from molds and may grind, repair, and clean molded fiberglass parts preparatory to assemble into boats.
Essential Duties:
- Performs rough preparatory work for lamination.
- May inspect, clean, and assemble molds prior to start of work. May apply wax to surface of mold to facilitate assembly and removal of laminated parts. May apply resin to surfaces of mold prior to placement of fiberglass mats.
- Selects precut fiberglass mat/cloth according to design specification.
- Places layers of mat and cloth in mold; trimming excess material from mold.
- Mixes catalyst into resin and works saturated mat into shape of mold.
- May assist in removing hulls from mold.
- Follow defined instructions and procedures in the performance of tasks.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area.
- All work to be performed and manufactured to Hinckley Company quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.

Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
- Zero (0) to twelve months experience or the equivalent combined years of experience and education. Work experience may be attained on-the-job and by company training.
- Knowledge and operation of: jig saw, band saw, grinders, buffer, skill saw, drill, vacuum pump, dremel, tape measure, hand saw, and scale rule.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and Carry 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs. on a frequent basis.
- Requires frequently lifting or moving average weight material.
- Requires continuous mental and visual attention.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, push, and pull.
- Requires working under extremely disagreeable conditions on a frequent basis where intensive exposure to elements such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, water, and chemicals may be present.
