Description
The Marine Paint Supervisor will supervise all aspects of the Hinckley Marine Paint Department at the service facility in Southwest Harbor and the production facility in Trenton. The Supervisor will be required to communicate with both facilities to develop and execute a work plan that meets the needs of both, and staff the department accordingly, while maintaining efficiencies and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with management to set and meet growth objectives for exterior marine paint business unit. Will provide estimates and may occasionally be requested to meet with a customer.
- Develops full understanding of all Hinckley Company product lines, optional equipment and accessories.
- Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
- Oversees material management to ensure paints and materials are available to specific crews to complete projects on schedule.
- Accountable for meeting production and service schedules within budget forecasts for all product lines and adjusting priorities as necessary.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production and service schedules, and other records and reports, to determine requirements and to evaluate current estimates and outputs.
- Understands quality processes and procedures and can convey processes and procedures to the staff.
- Able to solve problems and apply corrective action as required to assist team leaders and staff in the performance of their duties.
- Ensures proper charging by production and service crew for both labor and materials. May be required to approve timecards.
- Monitors work performed by production and service staff to ensure that they are efficiently and effectively producing quality products. May include inspection of materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Coordinates movement of goods through the plant stages and to other production or staging facilities.
- Enforces safety compliance, procedure adherence, and inspection of equipment and monitors department safety performance to comply with OSHA and company standards.
Requirements
- Five to eight years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
- Position requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems and the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
- Knowledge of time accounting, project management, quality, resource planning software.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production and service processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
You must be able to travel between Hinckley’s two locations in Trenton, ME and Southwest Harbor as required based upon business needs.
