Our team is seeking a Satellite Operation Manager to oversee and coordinate the production operation. This person leads efforts to continuously improve efficiency, increase productivity, control costs and is responsible for leading and developing a high morale workplace with the highest ethical and product quality standards. The Satellite Operations Manager works with Production Management, Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, Project Management, Engineering and other production level departments to evaluate and address production issues, both product and process in nature.
This position reports to the Production General Manager.

The Satellite Operations Manager works with Production Management, Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, Project Management, Engineering and other production level departments to evaluate and address production issues, both product and process in nature.
This position reports to the Production General Manager.
Responsibilities Include
- Works with the General Manager and other support personnel to manage scheduling, production, and quality control of work being done.
- Utilizes problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control, and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the facility key operating statistics.
- Coaches and provides technical expertise to resolve production issues and creates and ensures corrective actions are implemented.
- Identifies training and coaching needs, conducts performance evaluations, and sets departmental goals and expectations.
- Able to problem-solve and apply corrective action as required to assist employees in the performance of their duties.
- Ensures proper charging for both labor and materials.
- Accountable for meeting production schedules within budget forecasts and adjusting priorities as necessary to meet schedules and forecasts.
- Responsible for the adherence to company safety rules and regulations, along with all other policies and procedures, by his or her workers, and to direct workers to the proper methods of performing work in a safe and responsible manner.
- Responsible for the enforcement of all such company rules, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other incidental tasks such as recording time worked by employees on each individual job, reporting man-hours worked to payroll, requisitioning materials and supplies, operating overhead cranes and other lifting equipment, repair and maintenance of equipment, and operating company vehicles.
- Direct Cost Reduction Initiatives - Leads and supports efforts to reduce direct labor and material costs by simplifying production processes, selecting alternative materials, redesigning components and/or systems, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 7-10 years direct supervision & management experience.
- Bachelors degree in business or related trade school desirable.
- Ability to travel periodically.
- Marine experience preferred. Carpentry experience required.
- Expertise in analyzing, processing and presenting data for problem solving and management review.
