Job Title: General Studies Principal
Location: Huntington Beach, California
Salary: $130k - $150k per year, depending on the candidate
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic General Studies Principal to lead our WASC Accredited Orthodox Jewish High School located in Huntington Beach, California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the General Studies department, including curriculum development, assessment, and teacher training
- Ensure that all General Studies classes meet the standards of the WASC accreditation process
- Work collaboratively with the Judaic Studies Principal to promote a comprehensive educational program that integrates both General and Judaic Studies
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students, staff, and faculty
- Manage budget and resources for the General Studies department
- Participate in school-wide events and activities, including parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, and school assemblies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and community members
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in education or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in educational leadership, preferably in a high school setting
- Strong knowledge of and experience with the WASC accreditation process
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other school leaders and stakeholders
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Orthodox Jewish community and its values
- Knowledge of and experience with Common Core State Standards and best practices in teaching and learning
