The Hire Solution has partnered with a national food service client for the position of Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant is a key growth position within the accounting team, reporting directly the Assistant Controller. In this role, the ideal candidate can expect to :
- Perform month end close functions including booking accruals, reviewing journal entries of Staff Accountants, doing account reconciliations, creating adjusting and closing journal entries, analysis and reporting
- Ensure general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, review work of more junior employees
- Evaluate trends, identifies and investigates unusual or unexpected account variances and provide explanations to management
- Assist field personnel with account analysis and research
- Complete necessary external audit requests from external auditors
- Help cover all areas of the accounting department including revenue, Cost of Goods Sold, accounts receivable, fixed assets, tax returns and audit support as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Exceptional analytical, problem identification and problem-solving skills
- Organized and extremely detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
