A complex, CPG Manufacturer in the Southbay area is expanding operations and seeking an SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager to play a key role in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.
This role will lead various strategic projects and ad-hoc analytics that support operations, treasury, AP, and finance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly/quarterly SEC-compliant financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and statement of stockholder equity)
- Assist with the preparation of various financial reporting-related schedules for 10-K/Q
- Assist with the preparation of other SEC filings, including 8-Ks and offering documents
- Assist in all areas of technical accounting research and memo preparation
- Prepare and manage quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
- Serve as liaison to various company departments, including FP&A, Treasury, and Legal
- Serve as liaison to internal and external auditors
- Assist in the preparation of standardized reporting packages for senior management
- Maintain effective working relationships with various department heads, ensuring the internal financial reporting needs of various departments are met
- Monitor and enhance existing documentation of financial reporting processes and internal controls
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA is a plus
- CPA required
- 6 years of SEC reporting and technical accounting experience, preferably within a publicly traded company
- 2 years of public accounting experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfortable presenting information to the management team
- Experience researching, resolving, documenting, and communicating technical accounting and SEC reporting matters
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
