A growing distribution / logistics company is expanding operations in the Ontario area and seeks a highly skilled VP Finance to oversee financial operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with a PE-backed company coupled with a strong background in technical accounting, financial management, and budgeting. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and leading the accounting team to achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation and ensure proper double entry bookkeeping practices are followed.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Lead the accounting team in developing skills and competencies through training and mentorship.
