What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Archivist-Detailer position at The Hiring Group, LLC?
The person in this role will be responsible for archiving engineering drawings, 3D scanning, plant layouts, detailing drawings and 3D modeling.
The person in this role may also be responsible for completing the mechanical portion of large capital projects in support of the Plant Capital execution as well as overall preparation and coordination of the Engineering deliverables for the project. They will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the Mechanical engineering field. They will also execute design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment, and manage the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. They will support the plant through resolution of project non-conformities and machine modification requests. They may also be involved in supporting the plant’s major breakdowns.
This support is needed starting immediately and currently does not have a defined end date. The position will be reassessed on a regular basis based on the investment plan and loading of the engineering team.
Work Schedule:
- Normal work hours 40 hrs/ week Monday – Friday, however occasional shifts in schedules can be made to accommodate machine/area availability.
- Overtime work may be approved as needed but will not be typical.
- Work Plant Shutdowns as needed. This work almost always falls on weekends & Holidays.
- Work schedules will vary based on project need and assignment.
Key expected results:
- Provide documentation for assigned projects including solid models, mechanical detail drawings, electrical drawings, layout drawings, component specification, and bill of materials.
- Digitalization of paper drawings
- Perform 3D scans of facility and compile model
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings for new/current equipment.
- Respect company design standards in all equipment designs.
- Interface with internal customers including production, maintenance, safety and engineers.
Specific skills required:
- Associate’s degree in CAD, or equivalent technical experience with demonstrated solid teamwork and planning skills required.
- Experienced with mechanical design standards and able to complete mechanical systems designs using standard 3D-CAD design tools, SolidWorks preferred, AutoCAD is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Other skills preferred:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred 4 years of CAD experience
- Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous use of 3D scanning system
