Basic Job Functions:
Our client is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Electrical Technician. The successful candidate will coordinate housekeeping/safety efforts, be part of a team that performs maintenance on, repairs and improves the equipment as well as supporting the overall operation of the steel making process. Safely maintain electrical equipment and components throughout a steel manufacturing plant, including electrical and electronic equipment and components, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). This includes, but is not limited to troubleshooting and repairs, cooperating with and supporting operations, aggressively pursuing process improvements, assisting with documentation and training for all equipment, and other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work rotating shifts. Safety is the most important part of all jobs; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 or more years of heavy industrial electrical maintenance and automation experience
- 2 or 4 year engineering or technical degree
- Experience with leading a team
