We are seeking a Geotechnical Department Manager for a full-time role in Fort Collins, CO. This position will oversee geotechnical engineering projects for commercial, residential, and municipal structures while leading a team of engineers, geologists, and technicians. The role includes managing subsurface explorations, reviewing project recommendations, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving business development.
This role offers a competitive salary ($100,000 - $135,000) plus discretionary bonuses, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to grow within an employee-owned company.
Responsibilities
- Oversee geotechnical projects, including foundation, slope stability, and earth retention design
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, geologists, technicians, and administrative personnel
- Supervise project deliverables, including geotechnical reports and letters, and provide final review and stamping
- Manage subsurface explorations, coordinate drilling and laboratory testing, and ensure accurate analysis
- Direct project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities
- Assist with hiring, training, and performance reviews to expand staff capabilities
- Monitor project finances, review invoices, and manage change orders to ensure profitability
- Participate in company-wide initiatives, including internal process improvements and shareholder meetings
