Job Title: FLORAL DESIGNER
- Approximately 35 HOURS/WEEK
- JOB OVERVIEW: We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-oriented Floral Designer to join our team at The Hive! In this role, you will design beautiful floral arrangements for preorders, for customers with walk-in requests, and small scale events. This is an exciting opportunity to grow into a leadership role as you will eventually manage & inspire a team of floral designers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- FLORAL DESIGN: Create daily floral arrangements for the shop, including bouquets, centerpieces, and custom orders. Your designs will reflect both seasonal trends and customer preferences.
- CUSTOMER SERVICE: Greet and assist customers in a friendly & professional manner, provide floral recommendations based on their needs and preferences.
- INVENTORY MANAGEMENT/VISUAL MERCHANDISING: Working closely with an inventory manager to keep up with popular containers, floral supplies & reporting items that are damaged and/or broken.
- PRODUCT CARE: Keeping a schedule of cutting and conditioning florals to ensure freshness & quality. Assisting in the ordering of flowers, especially for holidays.
- SALES SUPPORT: Engage with customers to understand their floral needs and provide recommendations. Upsell products such as vases, cards, etc to enhance the overall customer experience.
- STORE MAINTENANCE: Help to maintain cleanliness & organization in the floral department, tidying up the floral area throughout the work day, ensuring all products are properly labeled & closing up the shop properly at the end of the day.
- TEAM COLLABORATION: Work closely with other team members in the front of the shop to meet store goals.
- PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE: Stay informed on what’s in season & the availability. Keep up with store promotions, holidays, floral subscriptions, town happenings that affect the store, and low inventory concerns.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- **Applicant will be required to send a portfolio / make an arrangement as part of the interviewing process
- Strong creative and artistic skills with a keen eye for design, color coordination, and seasonal floral trends.
- Ability to manage time effectively, work efficiently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional customer service & communication skills

- Ability to work in a fast paced , dynamic environment
- Create customer relationships to better serve their shopping experience
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends & limited holidays (ie. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day)
