Job Title: RETAIL SPECIALIST
- JOB OVERVIEW: We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-oriented Retail Specialist to join our team at The Hive! In this role, you will assist customers in finding the perfect addition for their home, a special hostess gift, as well as flowers & plants to liven up a space. A retail specialist will maintain the store’s aesthetic, restock the sales floor & provide excellent customer service to enhance the shopping experience at The Hive. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- CUSTOMER SERVICE: Greet and assist customers in a friendly & professional manner, provide product recommendations based on their needs and preferences, and answer general phone calls about the shop.
- INVENTORY MANAGEMENT/VISUAL MERCHANDISING: Restocking displays in the store, keeping up with inventory in storage & reporting items that are damaged or broken.
- PRODUCT CARE: Keeping an eye on living plants & letting management know if a plant is not doing well.
- SALES SUPPORT: Send customers looking for floral arrangements to the correct staff in the floral department. Assisting the customer to get an order started if the floral department is finishing an existing order.
- MONEY HANDLING: Process customer transactions accurately using the POS system, handling cash & issuing reciepts.
- STORE MAINTENANCE: Help to maintain cleanliness & organization in the store, tidying up display areas throughout the work day, ensuring all products are properly labeled & closing up the shop properly at the end of the day.
- TEAM COLLABORATION: Work closely with other team members to meet store goals, restock the store while assisting customers efficiently.
- PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE: Stay informed & up to date on store merchandise, promotions, town happenings that affect the store, low inventory concerns, and basic knowledge of seasonal plants & florals.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exceptional customer service & communication skills
- A passion for design & helping customers bring their vision to life
- Ability to work in a fast paced , dynamic environment
- Create customer relationships to better serve their shopping experience
- Basic knowledge of plants & florals is preferred, but not required
- Cash handling & basic math skills
- Flexbility to work weekdays, weekends & evening events as needed
- Bascic phone & computer skills
- Ability to lift 30 lbs & stand for extended periods of time
