Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides “a different kind of healing” to more than 20,000 seriously ill children and family members annually - all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn., in more than 40 hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.

Position Description
Our Assistant Housekeeper is an important member of our housekeeping team. The role contributes to the overall cleanliness of all Connecticut location Camp buildings as assigned by the Lead Housekeeper.
Our Seasonal Housekeeping Assistant can expect to...
- Take direction from the Lead Housekeeper.
- Clean and maintain buildings.
- Perform laundry pick up duties and change linens as needed.
- Respond to housekeeping supply requests and stock buildings with janitorial supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Be responsible for knowing and adhering to the policies and procedures contained in the Camp manual.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Commit to fostering a community that celebrates our Camp values, which are inclusion, gratitude, possibility, friendship and safety.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- The ability to with a diverse community in a multicultural environment.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
- Communicate clearly with Lead Housekeeper and other team members.
- Reach, bend and stoop frequently and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Subject to Criminal Background check.
- Comply with and remain flexible with COVID-19 specific precautions and requirements through the duration of the program, as outlined/advised by the CDC and the Hole in the Wall Medical Team.
- All positions are seasonal and are hired nominally from June to late August, up to 40 hours/week, as needed, including weekends..
