Business Systems Analyst
Our client is an asset investment firm based in Boston, MA, seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a hybrid role requiring 3 days on-site per week. The analyst will support technology initiatives within the Real Estate sector, contributing throughout the project lifecycle—from gathering business requirements to designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions. This position requires a combination of technical skills and a deep understanding of business processes to ensure effective integration of software and hardware systems.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with both business and technical teams to ensure seamless application support
- Collect, validate, and document business and technical requirements, including data flows, system design, and user interface elements
- Lead and collaborate on system planning, development, and testing efforts
- Participate in user acceptance testing and assist with system training and creating user documentation
- Manage production support tasks while also overseeing multiple application development projects
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to support technology initiatives and requests
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster growth and skill development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Systems, Finance, or a related fiel
- Master’s degree with a focus in Finance or Technology is preferred
- 7 years of experience in a related field
- Familiarity with Real Estate and alternative investment systems and terminology is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with real estate portfolio management systems such as Argus, Asset Eye / RealPage, Yardi, or similar tools
- Exposure to Private Equity systems like Anaplan, Investran, or eFront is a plus
- Proven ability to manage business requirements throughout the development lifecycle
- Skilled in developing workflows and functional use cases
- Solid understanding of data modeling, normalization, and SQL query writing
- Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Prior software development experience is advantageous
