Communications Assistant
Looking to work in academia and have prior experience with both administration and basic marketing/communications? We’ve partnered with a university in the Cambridge, MA area looking to bring on a Communications and Administrative Assistant on a 6-month temporary basis with a possibility of an extension.
Responsibilities:
- Editing and proofreading routine website content, newsletters, blog posts, social media posts, and other public-facing and internal-facing text and collateral
- Assist the lead designer with basic design tasks, such as editing images for website content and newsletters
- Reconciliations of expenses, expense reimbursements, purchase orders and contracts, independent contractor coordination
- Provide back-up for director’s assistant including calendar management
- Calendar invites, setting up Zoom or Owl camera, room reservations, catering, setting/cleaning up, custodial work orders, vendor coordination, building access.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of administrative/office experience and/or communications/marketing experience.
- Must be some who’s client-focused with interpersonal skills, comfort presenting and speaking with groups (5-20 people).
- Must have basic desktop publishing and graphic design skills (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and basic experience using MailChimp.
- Strong technical skills and ability to learn new software; sharp - ability to identify a need without direction.
