Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. You will play a key role in driving financial processes and supporting cross-team collaboration. You will oversee and manage core accounting functions, provide guidance to junior team members, and lead the monthly close process. You'll be a part of a highly collaborative team.
We are looking for someone who has experience in non-profit finance and accounting and who is passionate about continuous improvement and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Co-manage the monthly close process, overseeing team collaboration, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and asset depreciation
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes in partnership with department heads to align financial goals across the organization
- Develop and implement reporting structures that improve cash flow management and project financial outcomes
- Assist with financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting for program initiatives
- Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and organizational financial controls
- Help prepare materials for external audits and support the audit process
- Monitor and manage cash flow, accounts payable, and receivables, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies
- Contribute to the strategic and daily operations of the Finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in nonprofit organizations needed
- Proficiency in creating complex financial reports
- Experience leading and mentoring junior team members
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Sage Intacct (preferred)
