THE ROLE

The Director of Logistics Sales and Brokerage is responsible for identifying potential customers, managing the client base, updating information, negotiating rates, preparing quotes, tracking hauled goods, managing the information blow between shipper and the company, resolving problems and delivering goods to the final destination on time.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Leads Revenue Generation Activities for Holloway Logistics

  • Identify and qualify potential customers who require logistics services through cold calling, email outreach, networking, etc.
  • Build and nurture relationships with clients to understand their specific logistic needs, challenges and goals
  • Gain understanding of the full range of logistics services offered by Holloway Logistics and effectively communicate the value proposition to clients
  • Negotiate rates, terms and contracts with clients and carriers to secure business and ensure mutually beneficial agreements
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities and opportunities for growth
  • Provide accurate and competitive freight quotes to clients based on their shipping requirements and market conditions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and freight partners to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions
  • Track and analyze sales activities, performance metrics and pipeline progress to measure success and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process and beyond
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics and best practices in logistics sales by attending training sessions, participating in industry events and seeking opportunities for professional growth and development

Build, Develop, and Scale Holloway Transportation/ Logistics Brokerage Operations

  • Obtain and/or maintain necessary brokerage licensing
  • Work closely with back-office team to assess, implement, and seamlessly integration TMS with existing CRM and ERP platforms.
  • Align and leverage existing sales team and client base to drive brokerage growth
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for brokerage expansion in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and competitive advantage.
  • Monitor, analyze and optimize key brokerage performance metrics to enhance profitability, service levels, and operational excellence.
  • Strengthen Logistics Capabilities Across Holloway Business Units by partnering with Ag and Environmental business units to optimize transportation strategies and meet Holloway’s in-house logistics needs


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in Business Administration, Logistics or a related field preferred
  • Desired experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS) and Electronic Data interchange (EDI)
  • Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and logistics
  • Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), analytical and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and the ability to be highly flexible in a constant changing environment will be critical to this role

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be noisy at times.

Position Location: Paso Robles, Lost Hills, or Bakersfield

Pay: $120,000 - $145,000 plus Commission
