Job Summary

The Reservation Agent has two primary responsibilities. One is to help guests make their reservations by understanding their needs and providing detailed and accurate information about the area, resort and accommodation choices. The other is to carry out all administrative tasks related to the reservation including making the reservation in the RDP software system, emailing and/or mailing confirmations, sending requested information, taking follow up calls, and warmly welcoming the guest when possible. Responsibilities

In addition to the responsibilities set forth above:

• Assist the guest in the reservation process to ensure they are receiving the correct information about their accommodations and resort.
• Make the reservation and place the information in our system to ensure the accuracy of the guests reservation.
• Complete the daily check list for reservations and ensure the accuracy of the tasks that are being completed.
• Act as an ambassador for the Sleeping Bear Dunes Visitors Bureau and assist guests with questions and provide them with information over the phone.
• Assist the Reservations Supervisor in completing projects for the department using Microsoft office applications.
• Possess and maintain professional phone and interpersonal communication skills.

Requirements

• Can accurately and effectively communicate detailed information about the resort verbally and in writing.
• Will manage time and meet deadlines by efficiently utilizing the systems and tools provided.
• Will strive to exceed guest expectations and motivate team members to do the same.
• Will use sound business judgment and diplomacy when meeting with guests, resolving conflicts, and working with other team members.
• A strong hospitality background with directly related experience in the guest service industry preferred but not required.

Compensation

Wage commensurate with education, skills, and experience with an hourly wage and incentives. Benefits include paid vacation, health insurance, life insurance, access to a 401k retirement account and employee discounts. Hiring range for base wage is $16 - $17 per hour. On average, the Reservation Agents' incentives were $9,700.
