POSITION SUMMARY (“What are we looking for?”)

We have an exciting new position as a full-time Senior Brand Manager – Cat & Innovation, reporting directly to the CMO, and working closely across the full Marketing and R&D team. In this role you will serve as the Brand Champion for our Cat portfolio (think of yourself as the mini-GM!) as well as lead product development for both our Dog and Cat portfolios. You will help shape the overall innovation strategy for the brand, starting from gathering consumer insights all the way through to the product launch toolkit. Working with the Project Manager and R&D team, you will help bring new products to market and continually improve the existing portfolio.

Day to day, you’ll be staying on top of consumer trends – including being the organizational champion for Brand and Competitive Consumption tracking. You will take the data and translate it into actionable insights that will drive brand growth and help us stay ahead of the competition. You will work closely with our Retail Marketing Manager to ensure that the product launch stories are ready to share with our retail partners. You will be continually evaluating our existing portfolio and providing recommendations for optimizations. You will own all Seasonal and LTO offers, working to efficiently bring timely ideas to life!

SCOPE OF POSITION

  • Champion the brand’s purpose by bringing healthy products to market that put pets on the path to good health
  • Independently manage our Cat Portfolio, developing the strategy and plans to drive growth on the newest segment of our portfolio
  • Be responsible for all Consumption reporting, leveraging Neilsen, SPINS and Stackline data – then taking the data and turning into actionable insights for the business
  • Be the voice of the consumer, leveraging insights to shape the innovation roadmap as well as improve upon our existing products
  • Manage the existing product portfolio lifecycle (from ideas to end of life); provide recommendations for both sku rationalization and white space opportunities
  • Develop a 3-year innovation roadmap that delivers incremental and profitable growth for the business
  • Work closely with R&D to write and develop Product Briefs based on the consumer needs
  • Be the go-to-market champion for new product introductions, which includes engaging the entire organization to help successfully introduce new products, including the development of all sales materials (category story, customer sell-in decks etc)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (“What are we looking for?”)

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in Marketing roles; with 2-3 years’ experience in direct Innovation roles
  • Experience working in CPG; Pet Food experience a big plus
  • Experience in Neilsen, Stackline and similar Consumption reporting tools
  • Strong analytical, planning and project management skills – you love to dig into the data and turn it into insights
  • Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • You are a strategic thinker with a proactive mindset
  • Proven track record in balancing immediate and long-term priorities
  • You are comfortable tackling a new problem or situation without all the information
  • You are highly performance and results-driven and want to take on a high level of responsibility and work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Growth mindset with a collaborative, influence-driven work style
  • Clear commercial acumen and strong general management savvy
  • Collaborative team player and team builder who excels at partnering and influencing decision making at all levels of the organization
  • Visionary, positive, and energetic leader that fosters a unique, diverse, and winning culture
  • Someone who loves pets as much as we do!

The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000/year
