What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Center Assistant position at The Hope Center for Kids?
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The SCC Events Assistant will work with the SCC Director to coordinate all aspects of activities and events held at the Schenzel Community Center. The primary responsibility of the SCC Events Assistant is to provide support for all outside rentals and assist the SCC Director in the planning & executing of SCC sponsored events.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with SCC Director to manage lifecycle of all events to include initial walkthrough with client, client meetings, contract negotiation, vendor communication, calendar upkeep, event setup/breakdown, & follow up with client after the event
· Ensure events are completed smoothly & step up to resolve any problems that might occur
· Seek out & maintain business & community contacts to generate new events
· Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Outstanding negotiation ability
· Experience working in a fast-paced environment
· Work independently with minimal and/or no direct supervision
· Proven ability to address and resolve conflict with respect and patience
· Interpersonal talent to work well with a diverse team (staff, volunteers, community partners)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
